Voices and perspectives from around the world
I had the privilege of collaborating with journalists on a documentary film focused on press freedom in Africa. In this role, I handled the art direction and motion graphics, creating a visual narrative that highlighted the critical importance of free expression. The film was nominated for the Lift-Off Global Network First Time Filmmaker Sessions 2020 and was a semi-finalist at the Africa Film for Impact Festival 2020.
I contributed art direction, animation, motion graphics and post-production to PROCS - Rescuing Children from the Streets of Ethiopia, a powerful documentary shedding light on the efforts to help vulnerable children in Ethiopia. Working alongside a dedicated team, I aimed to enhance the emotional impact of the film through visual storytelling, while highlighting the urgent need for change and support for these children's futures.
In Bee-Lieve Part 1, I led the motion graphics, animation, and art direction for a short documentary filmed in Ethiopia. The film highlights women using beekeeping as a means to support their livelihoods. Through my creative work, I aimed to visually enhance the narrative and emphasize the resilience of these women.
In Bee-Lieve Part 2, I continued my role in motion graphics, animation, and art direction, focusing on landless youth involved in beekeeping. I worked to visually support the documentary’s narrative, underscoring the opportunities and challenges these young individuals face in building sustainable livelihoods through honey production.
